Progress FM 100.5 Ado-Ekiti was commissioned on the 7th of February, 2003 by the then minister of Education, Professor Babalola Borishade assisted by the former Governor of Ekiti State Otunba Niyi Adebayo.
The pioneering General Manager of the Station Mrs. Bolatito Joseph was the first person to speak on the Radio.
The Station was located along Iworoko road, very close to University of Ado-Ekiti.
Progress FM was equipped with digital Broadcast equipment which includes 2-twenty kilowatt solid state Broadcast Electronics FM transmitters and 2-two fifty KVA generators to power the station.
The station broadcast programmes in English, Yoruba and Ekiti dialect including the News.
The present General Manager of the station is Chief Sunday Olonitoke.
Progress FM being one of the 32 FM project set up by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria was to spread their services to all the nooks and cranny of Nigeria.
The Station opens everyday at half-past five in the morning and closes around half-past eight in the night, and the station’s signals were received in the neighboring states they include, Ondo, Kogi, Osun, Kwara and Edo.
